rides.bike is a cycling destination guide and editorial platform. When we say โweโ, โusโ, or โourโ, we mean the team behind rides.bike.

Information you provide
- Hotel listing submissions โ if you submit your property through our listing form, we collect the information you provide (name, email, property details)
- Contact form messages โ if you contact us, we store your message and email address to respond
Information collected automatically
- Analytics โ we use privacy-respecting analytics to understand which pages are visited and how the site is used. We do not track individual users across sessions
- Server logs โ standard web server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) are retained for security and performance purposes
What we do NOT collect
- We do not collect payment information
- We do not build advertising profiles
- We do not sell or share data with third-party advertisers
3. Cookies
We use cookies for:
- Essential functionality โ session management and site preferences
- Analytics โ anonymous usage statistics to improve the site
We do not use cookies for advertising, retargeting, or cross-site tracking.
4. Affiliate Links
When you click an affiliate link (e.g., to Booking.com or other accommodation partners), the partner site may set their own cookies to track the referral. This is governed by the partner's own privacy policy, not ours. We receive commission data (booking value, not personal details) from these partners.
5. Third-Party Services
The Site uses the following third-party services:
- Sanity CMS โ content management (no user data shared)
- Vercel โ hosting and deployment
- OpenFreeMap / OpenStreetMap โ maps (no personal data transmitted)
6. Data Retention
Hotel listing submissions are retained for as long as the listing is relevant. Contact form messages are retained for up to 12 months. Server logs are retained for 30 days. You can request deletion of your data at any time.

Under GDPR and equivalent regulations, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Object to processing of your data
- Request data portability
